Elska is my beloved 1979 Pacific Seacraft Flicka 20. She came without a name, and I named her Elska, which means “love” in Icelandic. Greg and I learned to sail a few years ago, and originally bought a 30′ Hunter. But my heart wasn’t in it, I yearned for a salty little ship. I fell in love with Flickas, and the rest is history.
At the moment, I’m too sick to sail that often, which is why I don’t have a lot of sailing posts up. I hope that I’ll heal as time goes on, and be able to sail more.
Her hull was purchased directly from Pacific Seacraft, and shipped to a professional boat builder, where her interior was custom built with offshore cruising in mind. Her cabin is Honduras mahogany, and instead of the traditional PSC headliner, she was given gorgeous fir planks. Her hull is completely insulated, the bulkheads are bonded to the hull (no liner).
